Description

Municipality of Noasca Flag

Light blue and yellow, with the arms of the town: the flag of Noasca

This flag is split down the middle: light blue on the left, yellow on the right. In the centre stands a shield divided in three: a gold letter N on red, two blue eight-pointed stars on gold, and a blue waterfall falling from a black rock on silver. A silver mural crown sits above, and branches of laurel and oak tied with a tricolour ribbon frame it. There is no text.

The N, the stars and the waterfall

Italian Wikipedia gives the blazon of the arms, granted with the gonfalone by decree of the President of the Republic of 5 April 1995: in the first part, red, a gold capital letter N; in the second, gold, two blue stars of eight rays; in the third, silver, a blue waterfall flowing from a black rock and running down to the base.

Light blue and yellow

The same page gives the gonfalone as a cloth divided light blue and yellow («partito di azzurro e di giallo»). This flag takes those colours and puts the arms in the centre.

The Noasca waterfall

Italian Wikipedia describes the cascade of Noasca, also called the Noaschetta cascade, as a 32-metre drop formed by the Noaschetta stream a short way from the village, one of the most famous in Piedmont and cited since the 19th century by travellers, some of them foreign. The parish church, dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta, stands just above the village almost beside the waterfall.

In the Gran Paradiso

Noasca is a comune in the Metropolitan City of Turin, in Piedmont, in the Orco valley, with part of its territory inside the Gran Paradiso National Park. According to Italian Wikipedia it lies on the southern side of the Gran Paradiso massif and its territory reaches 4,026 metres at the Roc, with a lowest point of 841 metres: the greatest altitude range of any comune in the Turin metropolitan area.

Who chooses it

For anyone from Noasca or from the Orco valley, for those who live far away and carry their town with them, for the Comune, its offices and civic ceremonies, for schools, associations and clubs, for a restaurant, a shop or a business that wants to show where it belongs. We sew it to order, in the size and fabric you choose above, and you see the delivery date before you pay.
