Description

Municipality of Casalincontrada Flag

Yellow and blue, with the arms of the comune: the flag of Casalincontrada

This flag is split down the middle: yellow on the left, blue on the right. Across the top, in an arch of gold-coloured capitals, runs «COMUNE DI CASALINCONTRADA». In the centre is a blue shield with a gold castle with two crenellated towers joined by a wall. A silver mural crown sits above the shield, and a wreath of laurel and oak, tied with a ribbon in the Italian tricolour, frames it.

The castle with two towers

Araldicacivica blazons the arms as a blue field with a gold castle, closed, with two small towers crenellated in the Guelph manner. Italian Wikipedia says the arms and the gonfalone were granted by decree of the President of the Republic of 2 August 1982. The Statute of the Comune confirms that the Comune is identified by the name «Comune di Casalincontrada» and by the arms and gonfalone described in that decree.

Yellow and blue

Italian Wikipedia gives the gonfalone as a cloth divided yellow and blue («partito di giallo e di azzurro»), and Araldicacivica lists a flag in the same cloth. This flag uses those colours with the arms in the centre and the name of the comune above.

The count's village

Casalincontrada is a comune in the province of Chieti, in Abruzzo. Italian Wikipedia says that in the second half of the 13th century the village was called Casalis Comitis, «the count's farmstead», probably in honour of Gualtiero di Pagliara, count of Manoppello. It passed in 1270 to the French Du Plessis, then to the Colonna and the Sully, and later to the Caracciolo, from whom Giovan Battista del Giudice bought it for 4,000 ducats.

Who chooses it

For anyone from Casalincontrada or the Chieti area, for those who live far away and carry their town with them, for the Comune, its offices and civic ceremonies, for schools, associations and clubs, for a restaurant, a shop or a business that wants to show where it belongs. We sew it to order, in the size and fabric you choose above, and you see the delivery date before you pay.
