Description

Municipality of Borgo Ticino Flag

White, with a tree among the stars: the flag of Borgo Ticino

This flag is plain white. In the centre stands a blue shield with a ring of silver stars around a large green tree that grows from a green mound. A grey mural crown with a red lining sits above it, and a wreath of laurel and oak tied with a red cord with gold tassels frames it.

Arms and gonfalone

The Statute of the Comune of Borgo Ticino says the Comune has the right to use the arms and the gonfalone attributed to it by a decree of the President of the Republic. Italian Wikipedia gives the date as 3 October 1962 and says the gonfalone is a cloth divided white and blue.

A town founded by Novara

Italian Wikipedia says the settlement, first called Borgo Franco, was built by Novara before 1190 on the hill above the old fortified centre of Lupiate, to counter the local lords, the powerful da Castello family. In 1413 the feudal rights passed to the Visconti, and in 1447 to the Borromeo, who kept them until 1646.

On the Ticino

Borgo Ticino is a comune of 5,157 inhabitants in the province of Novara, in Piedmont. Italian Wikipedia says the area was already lived in during prehistoric times and probably in the Roman era.

Who chooses it

For anyone from Borgo Ticino, or with roots in the Novara area and the valley of the Ticino, for those who live far away and carry their town with them, for the Comune, its offices and civic ceremonies, for schools, associations and clubs, for a restaurant, a shop or a business that wants to show where it belongs. We sew it to order, in the size and fabric you choose above, and you see the delivery date before you pay.
